Advanced Aesthetics Announces 2015 Advancing Atlanta Award Nominees

Georgia-based medical group recognizes organizations that are working to advance Atlanta

ATLANTA, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Advanced Aesthetics, PC is pleased to announce the 2015 Advancing Atlanta Award nominees. The first annual Advancing Atlanta Award was created to acknowledge and celebrate the civic and aesthetic contributions to the beautiful city of Atlanta made by nonprofit organizations, groups, and individuals.

"In aesthetic medicine, we witness incredible transformations on a daily basis," Dr. Edward Gronka points out. "We've been watching the same thing happen to the city we love, and it's exciting to see Atlanta grow and prosper."

Four nominees were chosen for their innovative approach to community improvement through art programs, green initiatives, urban development, and other projects that keep Atlanta beautiful. Each chosen organization was nominated by a surgeon in the practice.

Out of the many excellent nonprofit organizations that serve Atlanta, four were nominated for the 2015 award: Atlanta BeltLine, The Creatives Project, Trees Atlanta, and WonderRoot.

The 2015 Nominees

Atlanta BeltLine is one of the largest urban redevelopment and revitalization projects underway in the United States. Through a comprehensive effort, this project will reuse 22 miles of historic railroad to connect Atlanta's neighborhoods through public parks, trails, and transit. "I've long been impressed with the progress of the Atlanta BeltLine initiatives," reveals Dr. Joseph Raniere. "I nominated this organization because I believe their efforts will benefit Atlanta on multiple levels: they're making our city more beautiful and encouraging healthful outdoor activities such as walking and biking."

"I chose to nominate The Creatives Project for their work with Atlanta's visual and performing artists," Dr. Paul Feldman says. "Art is a powerful positive force, and Atlanta will benefit from nurturing local creativity." The Creatives Project is an organization that celebrates, elevates, and empowers artists to recognize and promote Atlanta's potential.

For 30 years, Trees Atlanta has been dedicated to protecting Atlanta's urban forest through planting, conservation, and education. "As a lover of nature living in a metropolitan setting, I enthusiastically support Trees Atlanta and their initiatives to preserve Atlanta's urban forest," states Dr. Edward Gronka. "I nominated this organization because of all the hard work both the leadership and volunteers put into keeping Atlanta beautiful."

The final nominee, WonderRoot, is an organization that unites artists and community to inspire social local change through arts-based service programs. "For me, WonderRoot is one of the most impressive Atlanta-based organizations," says Dr. Joel Stewart. "By empowering artists to engage with and advocate for their communities, they are fostering a new generation of local pride and commitment."

The Advancing Atlanta Award winner will be selected by votes cast by community members. The winner will be awarded a donation of $1,000 once the votes have been tallied. The first runner up will receive a donation of $250. The voting period will run from Thursday, March 12, 2015 to Friday, March 27, 2015, and voters will be able to return to the contest page daily to cast their vote.

Advanced Aesthetics is proud to recognize and support the organizations working hard to advance Atlanta and wishes all nominees the best of luck!
