Sigethy, an Alexandria, Virginia-based artist, created several new works in her signature Sea Core Kinetics series specifically for the Florida gallery. These colorful sculptures are glass cylinders filled with handcrafted abstract glass pieces resembling the exotic inhabitants of the sea. The works are animated through an intricate system of lights, water, and air, recreating the sounds and movement of underwater life.

Good Vibrations, the artist's first show at the Leslie Curran Gallery at ARTicles, pairs Sigethy's glass works with Richard Seidel's painted coastal scenes influenced by time spent in Venice, Madrid, and the French Riviera. This combination of sea and sand is sure to please local collectors and art enthusiasts.

The exhibition is Sigethy's first in the Tampa Bay area, though she has previously shown her work in Florida at the Palm Beach Fine Craft Show and sells her sculptures to homeowners around the state. Gaston and Nancy Randolph, Virginia natives, connected Sigethy to ARTicles Gallery owner, Leslie Curran, and curator, Robin Dana, after commissioning the artist to create a Sea Core for their second home in St. Petersburg. "Living in Alexandria and St. Pete, Nancy and I were thrilled to be proud owners of one of Alison's extraordinary Sea Cores displayed in our St. Pete condo. Also proud owners of several beautiful works of art from St. Pete's ARTicles Gallery, we were so happy to link Alison with Robin and Leslie, so our new St. Pete community can experience Alison's glass art in a beautiful gallery space representing fine art of many genres. It's the perfect marriage!"

Good Vibrations runs August 13th through September 3rd at the Leslie Curran Gallery, located at 1431 Central Ave. St. Petersburg, Florida. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, August 13th, from 6 to 9 pm, in conjunction with St Petersburg's 2nd Saturday ArtWalk. Following the exhibition, Alison Sigethy's Sea Cores will be available at ARTicles Art Gallery, 1445 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida.
