New All-Renewables Magazine Launched in North America

TULSA, Okla., July 7, 2009 — PennWell Corporation announces the launch of Renewable Energy World North America magazine. The bi-monthly b-to-b renewables-focused magazine joins the company's well-established Renewable Energy World Network as its latest print publication. The inaugural edition publishes in September and will have an initial readership of 25,000 subscribers in the renewable energy industry. The new magazine offers North American-focused news, commentary and features and complements the industry-leading Renewable Energy World magazine, also a PennWell publication based out of London.

Renewable Energy World North America magazine will be the flagship media sponsor for Renewable Energy World Conference and Expo North America. Its Web site will be RenewableEnergyWorld.com. Both the conference and the Web site are already major information and networking forces within the renewable energy community. PennWell's Renewable Energy World Network is rounded out by Renewable Energy World Conference and Expo Europe. With a new U.S. Administration supporting massive government investments and incentives in carbon-neutral renewable energy and infrastructure and with continuing strong support across Canada, the North American marketplace will be advancing into an era of solid growth in green technologies. "There is an undeniable momentum shift at all levels of government and large businesses to address climate change, and a broad recognition of the strong role of renewable energy in reducing greenhouse gas emissions," says Dick Rauner, Group Publisher of Renewable Energy World North America magazine.

Renewable Energy World North America magazine will cover utility-scale renewable power generation, including wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and hydroelectric sources. The magazine will also cover the world of finance, critical to the success of renewable energy project developers, technology companies and innovators. And it will offer interviews, profiles, industry news and insightful data all presented in a visually exciting design.

The magazine's editorial team will be led by David Wagman, who spent four years at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, has been Chief Editor of Power Engineering magazine since 2006 and is co-chairman of Renewable Energy World Conference and Expo North America. Joining David are Jennifer Runyon, Managing Editor, Graham Jesmer, News Editor, and Stephen Lacey, Podcast Producer and Editor from RenewableEnergyWorld.com; Peter Singer, Editor in Chief of Photovoltaics World magazine; and Nancy Spring, Senior Editor of Power Engineering magazine.

"This group of editors is as solid as it gets," said Wagman. "Their industry knowledge is second to none. Couple that with our stable of columnists and industry-expert authors, and Renewable Energy World North America magazine sets a new standard of excellence."
