Allure Energy Unveils a Combination of iBeacon and NFC Enabled Smart Sensor Technology Known as Aura™

EverSense™ named as CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Award Honoree

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Allure Energy, Inc. unveiled a revolutionary combination of iBeacon and NFC Enabled smart Sensor technology known as Aura, and has been named an International CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for EverSense™, a smart thermostat that automatically adjusts temperature based on a user's GPS location. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories.

EverSense™ is a Wi-Fi Touchscreen Thermostat featuring patented Proximity Control Technology™ to make life easier, greener, and more energy efficient. Using the Eversense™ mobile app for iPhone or Android, proximity control manages the home's temperature and energy usage based on how far, or near, each user may be from their residence. As homeowners leave their dwelling, the environment in their home is altered based on how far away they are.  As they return, EverSense automatically creates the ideal environment they want. EverSense is ideal for busy individuals and families with varying schedules. You can now save money while being stuck in traffic and still arrive home to your perfect degree of cozy.

Traditionally thermostats are placed primarily in hallways and other out of the way places. Often the temperature in the hallway is much different than in other rooms of the home. A comfortable temperature in the hallway doesn't necessarily ensure comfort when cooking in a crowded kitchen or watching the big game with friends in your living room. Aura for EverSense solves this problem.

Aura is an industry first in that combines both Near Field Communication (NFC) for Android® devices and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for Apple's® new iBeacon Technology into a single form factor.   Simply place a patent pending Aura™ sensor in a room, and the mobile apps can detect that room's temperature and adjust it accordingly. By leveraging both NFC and iBeacon technologies, Aura™ for EverSense™ creates an ecosystem that gives consumers the ultimate experience in comfort and convenience for most mobile devices in the marketplace.  "We are trying to enhance the user experience for the majority of our customers by providing Aura," says Jim Mills, Vice President of Business Development at Allure Energy.  "With Aura, we can now create the perfect home environment on a room by room basis, further enhancing the user experience in the home."

Simply place an Aura sensor in any room in your home, walk through the simple set up process and you now have the ability to receive and maintain a more accurate room temperature easily from within the room. Add more Aura sensors to the system at any time and because they use Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC, they can run for up to two years.

A release date for Aura has not yet been announced. When released, Aura will be compatible with today's EverSense and can be purchased separately.

EverSense does much more than a traditional thermostat and also includes other features, such as built-in speakers for streaming your favorite music from your smartphone, a weather application including animated radar and energy saving tips to help you save even more.

The prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

Allure Energy's EverSense™ will be displayed in The Venetian at the 2014 International CES, which runs January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Honorees will also be displayed at CES Unveiled: The Official Media Event of the International CES from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 5 in South Seas Ballroom C at Mandalay Bay.

The Innovations entries are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Engineering qualities, based on technical specs and materials used
  • Aesthetic and design qualities, using photos provided
  • The product's intended use/function and user value
  • Why the product deserves the Innovations award, including specifics regarding its unique/novel features and features that consumers would find attractive
  • How the design and innovation of this product directly compare to other products in the market place

Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries. Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined in a single product or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs.
