Altus Advisory Partners Finds Universities That Align With Relevant Employers Reap Benefits

Student employment expert Scott Lurding to speak on university employment outcomes at AASCU 2014 Summer Academic Affairs Meeting.

Student employment expert Scott Lurding of Altus Advisory Partners will present his research on the subject at the up-coming American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) 2014 Summer Academic Affairs Meeting in late July in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Lurding, Founder and CEO of Altus, will present on a study his firm did to help a client develop genuine partnerships with the employer community and the university's process to improve student employment outcomes and create long-term development opportunities.

In his presentation, Lurding will share some of the process Altus uses for employer alignment projects, the value of the learning gained from engaging employers through interviews, and the long-term benefits of universities' efforts to align themselves more closely with relevant employers. As part of the presentation, there will be a panel discussion that will include an Altus client that is an AASCU member.

Lurding has 20 years of experience in higher education, consulting and business. He is the author of a Harvard Business School case and has been a guest lecturer at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) 2014 Summer Academic Affairs Meeting will run from July 31 to August 3 at Harborbeach Marriott Resort, 3030 Holiday Dr. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The theme for AASCU's Academic Affairs Summer Meeting is "Fostering Student Success: Programs and Practices."
