America's Vacation Center Announces the Overwhelming Success of Its Regional Chapters

Host travel agency's regional meetings increase affiliates' networking nationwide

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 13, 2007 — America's Vacation Center (AVC), one of the leading host travel agencies in North America and beyond, today announced the extraordinary success of its AVC Regional Chapters. These groups are organized by geographic location within the host agency, designed to stimulate socialization and business networking between AVC's independently owned and operated affiliates.

AVC, http://www.JoinAVC.com, launched its AVC Regional Chapters with the South Florida Chapter in October 2006. Following that first meeting, eight more Regional Chapters have become active. AVC currently offers community building elements including the My AVC Buddy(TM) system, My AVC Mentor(TM) program, an enterprise-class Instant Messaging system, the AVC Community Forum, and more. AVC Regional Chapters now complement the community building with face-to-face interaction many home-based travel professionals yearn for. AVC Regional Chapter meetings, organized by both AVC executives and independent affiliates, give independent agents the opportunity to meet with vendor representatives, receive training, build business relationships with other independently owned and operated affiliates, and help with the transition from a brick-and-mortar environment to a host agency model.

"AVC Regional Chapters give AVC home-based independent affiliates the opportunity to get out there, network, and exchange ideas with one another. It's like the online AVC Community Forum, except you get to see each other in-person," said Steve Hirshan, an independent affiliate and coordinator of the AVC Regional Chapters program. "Many of us were used to being surrounded by people in brick-and-mortar agencies. Now, we look around and see only the cat. These meetings give us an avenue to experience the personal interface that we still want from time to time."

Van Anderson, Co-President of AVC, recently attended both a Southern California Regional Chapter meeting in San Diego and a Southeast Regional Chapter meeting in Orlando.

"AVC Regional Chapters are the evolution of AVC's home-based online community to one-on-one interaction. Many independent affiliates miss the camaraderie and 'water cooler' talk of retail agencies," said Anderson. "Adding regular regional meetings was a natural step with AVC's passion for community-building, and we look forward to the program's expansion."
