Attorneys at DRK Attorneys Create $1,000 Scholarship for Student Living with Mental Illness

Brand-new scholarship from criminal defense firm is designed to provide positive option for a student enrolled at or entering a U.S. college or university

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Creating a brighter path for one student living with mental illness, the attorneys at DRK Attorneys have created a brand-new $1,000 college scholarship designed to highlight both the challenges of living with mental illness as well as the possibility of a successful future.

"We have seen both the challenges of living with mental illness as well as incredible men and women who overcome those challenges and shine, one of the things that inspired us to create this new scholarship," said Anthony DeLuca, DRK Attorneys. "We hope to support the next generation in their pursuit of higher education and to help more people understand what it's like to live with and manage mental illness."

Designed for a student entering or enrolled at a college in the United States (including community, technical, undergraduate and postgraduate colleges), more information and an application form for the scholarship is available at www.drkattorneys.com/scholarship. The deadline for the scholarship is January 16, 2015.

The application includes an essay portion; further, applicants must have a diagnosed and documented mental illness and must be currently under the care of a licensed mental health professional.
