Raw Luv Bar was created in my kitchen in October 2013. The first bars were created as a healthy snack for my mother and I to enjoy. Shortly after my first attempt to make my ideal snack, I took a few bars to my acupuncture appointment to share with the office. In response, the owner of the practice asked if she could place an order for her staff. As a result, I began providing samples to local Harlem stores, businesses and hotels. The response was equally as enthusiastic. It was then that I knew it was time to commit to my passion. I am professionally trained as an attorney, but my true passion is food, especially chocolate. For the past several years I have worked as an advocate for jazz artists and legal analyst. I told myself that it would be time for my food business when my student loans were paid off. In the meantime, I dreamed of starting a food business that honored my food journey. The travels began in an effort to combat severe adult acne and my family history of diabetes. It has been 12 years since I made the shift from processed junk foods to whole and nutrient rich foods. It was a win-win for both my skin and my overall health. Thanks to the joy of sharing food and enthusiastic tasters I know that now is the time for a different kind of bar-- Raw Luv Bar!
