Low inventory throughout Denver, Amy says, has sparked a slew of bidding wars and backup offers on the limited number of homes available for sale.

Amy says she recently worked with a seller in the Aurora area who went under contract quickly. When the buyer tried to negotiate a number of items and money as part of the inspection, the seller refused to budge, knowing if the buyer backed out, he could resort to the backup offer.
Amy adds that the seller lost that buyer, and after fixing a variety of the inspection items, sold to the backup offer for more money. Scott says that while seller confidence is up, sellers continue to be gun-shy.
"Potential sellers worry that once they sell their home, they won't find anything worthwhile to buy. This means Denver may continue to have low housing inventory and remain a competitive seller's market in most areas," says Scott.
