HOUSTON, Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The Bay Area Chorus presents two Inspiration Christmas Concerts as they continue their Fiftieth Concert Season LOOK TO THE FUTURE, with new Artistic Director, Milton Pullen. These concerts will be held at 4:00 P.M. on December 6, 2014 at the Chapel of the Villa de Matel (6510 Lawndale, Houston TX 77021) and at 4:00 P.M. on December 7, 2014 at the Clear Lake Presbyterian Church (1511 El Dorado, Houston TX 77062). The Bay Area Youth Singers, under the direction of Brenda Varvoutis, will sing selections of the season with harp, organ, and percussion on Saturday at the Villa. The Clear Lake Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir, directed by Dr. David Stocker in their sanctuary, will sing two numbers composed and arranged by Dr. Stocker. Mendy Alford, the official BAC accompanist, will be accompanying the BAC on piano and organ. Tickets in advance are available through the BAC website listed below or from any current singer in the chorus for $15. Tickets at the door: adults – $20, senior citizens (65+) – $15, and students – $10.
One of Houston's oldest non-profit choral groups, the Bay Area Chorus, has brought heartfelt performances to Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast since the Spring of 1965. The Inspiration Christmas Concerts, in this fiftieth Concert Season, will be conducted by Milton Pullen, BAC Artistic Director. Choral offerings will include Nystedt's Cry Out and Shout, Bach's Dona Nobis Pacem, Gretchaninoff's Our Father, Caldwell and Ivory's Hope for Resolution, Parker's Away in a Manger, Rutter's Silent Night, and Mulholland's Carols of Christmas at both concerts. The Bay Area Chorus is launching their first CD collection honoring their 50th Anniversary at these December concerts with songs recorded live in 2007-2012 concerts depicting Christmas Favorites and American Favorites.
