Beach Terrace Care Center Proudly Presents Gorgeous Remodeling of Rehabilitation Suite Following Damage Sustained from Hurricane Sandy

LONG BEACH, N.Y., March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Beach Terrace Care Center was among those facilities damaged by Hurricane Sandy with it first floor destroyed and the entire facility evacuated. It is now ecstatic to reopen its brand-new state-of-the-art rehabilitation suite.

Having recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the facility so many call home, Beach Terrace Care Center is ready to show off their revamped and remodeled rehabilitation and therapy room. This beachfront oasis lies at the foot of the Long Beach Boardwalk, literally steps away from the beach.

After evacuating its residents in late October of 2012 due to the impending storm, Beach Terrace Administrator Martin Zwick understood that the task of rebuilding one of the most essential units in the building was not going to be an easy one. "We started from the ground up when we set out to reconstruct our rehab center," states Martin Zwick. "We thought about every single patient that would set foot in this room and how they would need to utilize what we offer to benefit them the most. That's what it all comes down to for us – our beloved residents."

Along with the brand-new therapy room, the shorefront end of the building also features a newly constructed Visitors' Lounge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Family members coming to Beach Terrace to visit loved ones will also be able to enjoy the newest additions to the building.

The rehab department at Beach Terrace treats a wide range of medical conditions – residents who have suffered a stroke, orthopedic injury or surgery for joint replacement, individuals with traumatic brain injury or other neurological conditions, or those who need reconditioning.  Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy are also offered in this state-of-the-art rehab center. Each resident is evaluated and receives the maximum hours of therapy they can tolerate.

Beach Terrace Care Center is a 182-bed facility located right at the foot of the Atlantic Ocean. With newly renovated rehab and therapy rooms, residents at Beach Terrace are cared for in a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment. Beach Terrace also offers on-site hospice for residents facing terminal illnesses. They contract with outside major hospice companies.
