Bestnet Discusses 'Why Netprotect Is Superior' on the EmeraldPlanet TV Show

KOLDING, Denmark, Oct. 28, 2011 — Bestnet A/S announced today that Doreen Weatherby, US Sales & Marketing Manager, appeared on the October 9, 2011 episode of The EmeraldPlanet television show during an episode entitled "LESS MALARIA: Reaching Community Immunity in Africa through a Proactive Community-Based Health Care Approach and Successful Partnerships."

EmeraldPlanet is a worldwide non-profit organization based in the Washington, DC area that is dedicated to identifying at least 1,000 Best Practices for a sustainable environment and economic development. Dr. Samuel Lee Hancock is the President & Executive Director of EmeraldPlanet and is the producer & host of EmeraldPlanet TV Programs.

Weatherby joined Dr. Hancock to discuss why Netprotect® Long Lasting Insecticide Incorporated Nets® (LLINs), made of polyethylene, are superior to mosquito nets made of less durable, surface treated polyester. Netprotect® LLINs last up to 5 years, delivering protection from vector borne diseases for up to twice as long as inferior polyester nets.

The program highlights the fact that Bestnet produces Netprotect® LLINs in the widest variety of colors, shapes and sizes of any World Health Organization (WHOPES) recommended LLIN on the market. Recently published studies indicate that the addition of color to bednets increases user compliance, thereby resulting in greater protection from malaria and other vector borne diseases.

Bestnet also offers Netprotect® LLINs in brightly colored stripes, and is the only manufacturer of WHOPES recommended LLINs that can be custom imprinted with a logo or message, at an affordable price. Custom imprints allow the many non-profit organizations involved in malaria control efforts to achieve better branding, messaging and donor recognition.
