"Life Is a Choice: A Guide to Success in Life" by Dr. David Washington is Vying for Nomination
RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 13, 2011 — The newly released book, Life Is a Choice: A Guide to Success in Life, has been accepted for consideration by the NAACP Image Award Office of Submission.
Life Is a Choice is competing for one of the final five nominations in the 2012 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award in Literature. The book is competing for a nomination in the two sub-categories of Outstanding Literary Work: Instructional and Debut Author.
"I am ecstatic about being able to compete for these illustrious awards," explains the book's author, Dr. David Washington, CEO of Washington & Company, a business consultancy and training company. "It is truly an honor to able to compete with such outstanding writers and professionals."
The NAACP Image Awards is the nation's premier multi-cultural awards show celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts (television, recording, literature, motion picture and writing & directing), as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors.
In addition to the NAACP Image Awards, Life Is a Choice is competing in several other literary competitions, such as the Axiom Business Book Awards, 2012 Independent Publisher Book Awards, and The USA "Best Books 2012" Awards.
Commercially, the book is doing well. "Current pre-orders and sales are strong for the book. I anticipate continued growth of purchasing through Christmas and into the next year," stated Dr. Washington.

Dr. David Washington is CEO of Washington & Company, a business consultancy and training company. He has been published in the Leadership and Organizational Management Journal, Franklin Business Law Journal, and the Ethics and Critical Thinking Journal.
