A global citizen, Maya Thiagarajan has lived and worked in India, Singapore, and the US. She earned a BA in English from Middlebury College and a Masters in Education Policy from Harvard University.
Struck by the different approaches to education and parenting that she encountered, Maya began to interview hundreds of Asian families on their values, hopes, fears and parenting styles. In Beyond the Tiger Mom, Thiagarajan examines the stereotypes and goes beneath the surface to explore what really happens in Asian households.
