In Midland, Manning concentrates her practice in litigation, appellate, and oil and gas law. She has broad experience in matters impacting oil and gas companies in the region.  She has drafted appellate briefs at all levels and argued before state and federal trial and appellate courts on a range of industry issues related to all of the major Texas energy markets.

Her background also includes representing companies in ad valorem tax disputes involving mineral interests, such as facilities, working interests, and royalties, through trial and before the Appraisal Review Board, intermediate Courts of Appeal, and the Texas Supreme Court.  Manning has counseled clients on a number of general business practice matters, including real estate, contracts, banking, and oil and gas title law, and has extensive litigation and appellate experience.

"Burleson's attorneys have built a strong reputation for delivering highly effective counsel to companies in virtually every major producing area of the United States," said Manning. "That broad base of knowledge really appealed to me, but what impressed me the most is their distinct experience in matters impacting the Permian Basin.  They recognize the critical role this region has played – and will continue to play – in domestic energy production, and are providing the legal resources companies need to handle the complex issues of today's operating environment."

Burleson's Midland location, which opened at the end of last year, is the fourth office the energy law firm has established outside of Houston since 2009.  The firm also has offices in Pittsburgh, San Antonio, and Denver. With this rapid growth, Burleson now represents clients in every major North American producing region.

Rick Burleson, managing partner of Burleson, said, "Brandy has a strong blend of industry knowledge and legal experience that makes her a highly effective attorney and a great fit for our litigation group.  Her qualifications and insight complement the capabilities of our litigators and reinforce our ability to confidently counsel clients on practically any dispute related to conventional and unconventional energy while underscoring our continuing commitment to the Permian Basin."

Manning, who has practiced law for more than a decade, has been named a Texas Rising Star in Appellate Law by Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers®, a highly regarded compilation of top attorneys by region. Additionally, she has given presentations on a number of occasions at a wide range of events and venues, including the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law Urban Gas Drilling Symposium and the International Leadership Alumni Conference.

She earned an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
