CacheIO Teams Up with Digital Vision for Enhanced 4K Workflows at NAB

NAB Stand SL14518 / Chairman's Room, Renaissance Hotel

LAS VEGAS, March 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — CacheIO, the high performance storage array leader for intense media applications, and Digital Vision, the industry icon for digital media processing, are collaborating at NAB to show enhanced workflows with the CacheIO 2RU Flash Array drawing on the 140Gbps bandwidth of the CacheIO appliance to provide concurrent 4K playback.

The CacheIO FA140 Flash Array provides over 40TB of usable SSD storage and blazing bandwidth of over 140Gbps, enabling real-time streaming of up to 9 concurrent uncompressed 4K streams, with no performance loss due to the fragmentation suffered by traditional hard disk-based systems. Its innovative compact design incorporates 18 x 8Gbps fibre channel ports which can be shared by many media production workstations under the management of Quantum's StorNext file system. CacheIO Flash Array can scale performance and capacity linearly up to tens of 4K streams and hundreds of TBs across multiple systems under one single file system. CacheIO proprietary software preserves the performance and endurance of large capacity SSDs under constant load for more than 10 years.

Digital Vision will bring its range of image technology solutions to NAB 2013, including the Nucoda 2013 colour grading product line which features many new tools and enhancements, and the latest version of Phoenix restoration software. In addition the company, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, will present the first technology demonstration of Thor, a soon-to-be-released dedicated hardware product for advanced image processing.
