Call for Speakers for Rural ACO Summit in Washington, DC

National Rural Accountable Care Consortium seeks current ACO participants to speak at Feb 2 Conference

NEVADA CITY, Calif., Nov. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The National Rural Accountable Care Consortium is seeking speakers for the Rural ACO Summit, a free educational conference set for February 2, in Washington, DC.  The conference is being held in conjunction with the National Rural Health Association's Policy Institute, which begins February 3.

Lynn Barr, founder of the National Rural Accountable Care Consortium said, "We want to provide a real-world look at ACO implementation to Summit attendees. We're seeking current rural ACO members who can offer commentary and valuable insight into their unique experience as rural providers."

The following are invited to submit speaker proposals:

  • National Rural Accountable Care Consortium members
  • Members of other rural ACOs
  • Rural members of urban ACOs
  • Rural members of Advanced Payment Model ACOs

Suggested topics include:

  • Strategies for quality improvement
  • Lessons learned from the Advanced Payment Model
  • Policy recommendations to improve rural ACO participation and performance
  • Using data to improve care and lower costs
  • Care coordination case studies
  • IT / data challenges and successes
  • Lessons learned and innovative solutions

To submit your proposal, please provide the following items to Desiree Brewer at dbrewer@ruralaco.com by Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

  1. Complete contact information (name, credentials, email, phone, address) and short biography of speaker
  2. ACO name, program starting year
  3. Brief overview of presentation (ACO experience to be discussed)
  4. Three or more learning objectives of presentation

Those selected to speak will receive a travel stipend to attend the Summit. Speakers will present for approximately 15 minutes on a plenary panel or a breakout session.
