Campers spend the weekend learning in a variety of elaborate and hands on formats that teach the sciences, performing and visual arts, mathematics and engineering in the most creative ways possible.

This year's "DI-fy Gravity" themed weekend offers a range of activities for kids, grades 1-8, that will have campers flying through the air on a trapeze, gliding down the longest zip line in Texas, soaring in a hot air balloon and finally coming back to earth to navigate a life-size maze all while promoting creativity, teamwork and problem solving.

"So many camps can inspire a child to dream, but no camp can bring a child's very own dream to life like Journey Camp," Jon Mark Howeth, Camp Director and Texas Destination Imagination Executive Board Member said.

Another unique aspect of Journey Camp is putting campers' survival skills to the test by transporting them into a variety of natural disasters. Whether it's a tornado, avalanche or just trying to adapt to the extreme elements of the rainforest, campers gain the confidence to survive in unfamiliar environments.

Standardized testing, such as G/T TEKS and STEM, is promoted through specialized learning techniques and incorporated in majority of activities.

"Every child has a dream or creative idea, but at Journey Camp, campers learn how to turn their creative ideas and dreams into a reality," Howeth said.
