Center for Plastic Surgery to Offer New Skin Tightening Treatment for Patients

ThermiTight™ and ThermiSmooth™ are coming soon to the Center for Plastic Surgery

WASHINGTON, Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Washington DC's Center for Plastic Surgery is excited to announce a new offering for patients: ThermiTight and ThermiSmooth skin tightening treatments for the face, neck, arms, abdomen, and thighs.

"Before ThermiTight, lasting treatment of sagging skin required a surgical approach, including excising excess skin and lifting remaining skin," states Dr. Price. "ThermiRF™ technology is an impressive breakthrough for patients. We can now deliver significant aesthetic improvements without significant pain or downtime."

An excellent option for patients who are not ready for surgery, ThermiTight works by applying a combination of radio frequency and controlled thermal energy under the skin to trigger the tightening process from the inside out. Treatment generally takes under an hour and involves little to no downtime.

The procedure begins with the application of an anesthetic to the treatment area, after which the ThermiTight probe is inserted just under the skin. Skin temperature is closely monitored with a special infrared camera, enabling the surgeon to safely administer heat to the area and follow the patient's bone structure to gently sculpt the desired results.

To smooth fine lines and wrinkles in more delicate areas of the face, such as the eyes and mouth, the surgeons at the Center for Plastic Surgery will be utilizing the nonsurgical handheld ThermiSmooth applicator. This applicator uses the same ThermiRF technology, though the application differs: ThermiSmooth administers heat through the skin's surface without any type of anesthetic. It then stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen gradually.

"The procedure is particularly well-suited to patients with minimal to moderate skin laxity of the face and neck," according to Dr. Price. "ThermiSmooth can also be combined with other facial treatments, such as peels and a medical grade skincare routine, to produce beautiful results that will improve over time."

The practice is pleased to offer these treatments in time for the holidays. Both ThermiTight and ThermiSmooth will be available in December.

The Center for Plastic Surgery will be hosting an educational ThermiTight seminar on Thursday, December 11th, 2014. Dr. Wesley Price will discuss how ThermiRF treatments can tighten skin and help restore a youthful appearance. Seating is limited; register now by calling (301) 652-7700 and reserving your seat with Erin Kilbourne.
