Certified Hazard Control Management (CHCM) Review & Examination Session to be Held in Montgomery, Alabama, March 25-26, 2015

CITY, St., Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (IBFCSM) is pleased to announce that a Certified Hazard Control Manager (CHCM) Core Concepts Review Session will be held in Montgomery, Alabama on March 25-26, 2015. Day One will be devoted to a review of core concepts and principles presented in Jim's new book: Introduction to Hazard Control Management: A Vital Organizational Function. The CHCM Exam will be administered to qualified candidates on Day Two of the session. The CHCM focuses on using management and hazard control principles to improve organizational safety. Thousands of individuals have already earned their CHCM designation. This session would be appropriate for those serving in the following functions or positions: safety and health, environmental compliance, fire and accident prevention, hazardous materials management, disaster response, risk management, insurance loss control, workers compensation, quality assurance, or other hazard control-related disciplines. Current CHCM credential holders come from various types of organizations including manufacturing, military, construction, mining, security management, transportation, healthcare, education, consulting, emergency management, insurance, system safety, and federal, state, or local governments.

The CHCM session will focus on the following topics: (1) hazard control management concepts, (2) leadership and management, (3) compliance, (4) hazard identification, analysis, and control, (5) accident prevention techniques, and (6) voluntary consensus standards. Candidates taking the CHCM Exam at this session must complete the online Application and submit online Reference Evaluations from two (2) persons aware of their fitness for certification.  This must be done prior to attendance. Master-Level Candidates will document eight (8) years of experience, achievement, and/or education combined.  Please note that CHCM Candidates can qualify without a four-year degree.  Associate-Level Candidates must document four (4) years of relevant experience and/or education combined. Each Candidate must pass the closed-book CHCM Exam. The CHCM Exam contains at least 100 multiple-choice exam questions with four possible answers. Some exam questions will require analysis, application of concepts, and/or critical thinking.
