'Children Have Abilities, Now Go Educate': New Non-Fiction Challenges the Validity of Common Societal Beliefs

SAN CLARA, Manitoba, June 7, 2010 — Have we all become hypocrites? In his new novel, "Children Have Abilities, Now Go Educate," J. Patrick Carriere questions the true beliefs of intentions of individuals in our society as it relates to religion, ethics, and our general well-being.

As stated by Carriere, "We learned the message of peace, love, joy, happiness, charity, and forgiveness at the fronts of our churches, mosques, and temples, but do we heed the teachings?" "Children Have Abilities" discusses the concept of government, organized religion and corporate control over the actions, beliefs and cultural norms of the Western world. Carriere believes that it is extremely important to question the beliefs and standards that we tend to accept as fact without question.

When asked what lessons he would like to impart to readers, Carriere explains, "I have traveled and worked extensively with many different cultures around the globe in the oil patch and have seen many things which prompted me to tell my story. I am spiritual and believe in the laws of man given to us in the beginning of time and understand we need some laws made by man to control crime but dictatorships of any kind must be put in check. Through my writing I hope to give people a point of view different than what is widely perceived throughout the world, especially the western world."

"Children Have Abilities, Now Go Educate" will interest anyone possessing an open mind and the ability to question their own culture and moral standards. To achieve peace we must learn the ways of people different from ourselves, understand why we hold certain beliefs, and realize that not all rules should necessarily be followed.
