When asked what lessons he would like to impart to readers, Carriere explains, "I have traveled and worked extensively with many different cultures around the globe in the oil patch and have seen many things which prompted me to tell my story. I am spiritual and believe in the laws of man given to us in the beginning of time and understand we need some laws made by man to control crime but dictatorships of any kind must be put in check. Through my writing I hope to give people a point of view different than what is widely perceived throughout the world, especially the western world."
