"ICF has decided to reposition the magazine as a resource for all coaches. This move is in alignment with our vision to see humanity flourish by advancing the profession of coaching," said Executive Director and CEO Magda Mook. "It's important to us to serve our industry by resourcing coaches with valuable content in an easy-to-read format."

Coaching World, which began in 1996 started with 410 email subscribers, and was filled with ICF news and chapter events. Now it's sent to more than 19,000 ICF Member subscribers and is available to the public online. ICF conducted research surveys to evaluate what readers wanted in the magazine. "We found that the readers wanted more business and marketing tips, case studies, and coaching best practices," explained Mark Ruth, ICF's director of research and education. "The readers told us what they wanted, and this is the marketing team's first step in that direction."

November's dual issue offers business and marketing advice for both aspiring and experienced coaches. It's obvious that aspiring coaches and experienced coaches face some very different challenges so the first half of the publication is aimed at beginning or aspiring coaches and the second half is for experienced coaches. Articles range from "What You Didn't Learn in Coaching School" to "The Secret of Income as a Coach." The issue is full of insightful articles, videos, case studies, and research that will inform coaching practices and give ideas and tools that can be implemented immediately.
