PENSACOLA, Fla., Feb. 19, 2008 — Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Panama City has joined forces with Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS(R), adding five new offices to its growing real estate service area in Florida. Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS(R) will assume full ownership and responsibility for all five Panama City-based offices, ensuring a seamless transition for both the company's brokerage operations and its customers. The company's reach in Florida will now extend throughout Escambia County and the Pensacola area on the western edge into Santa Rosa (Gulf Breeze, Navarre, Pace), Okaloosa (Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview), South Walton (Blue Mountain), and Bay and Gulf Counties in the Panama City area to the east.

Denis McKinnon, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS(R) for the Gulf Coast Region, offered his confidence in the expansion: "Our two outstanding firms allow us to offer expanded, high-quality services to our entire marketplace along the northern gulf coast and in the southeast from Texas to the Carolinas. Our agents and customers will benefit from the marketing power of the number one Coldwell Banker franchise in the world."

"I am very pleased to announce that we have entered into a strategic merger which will strengthen the Coldwell Banker presence in Northwest Florida and foster greater business opportunities," says Clark W. Toole III, President and Chief Operating Officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. Parent company NRT will continue to operate the resort and property management operations separately.

Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS(R) was founded as a commercial brokerage company by Richard A. Smith as the Richard Smith Company on July 1, 1970, in College Station, Texas, and soon after entered the residential market. By the mid-70s, the company had started a construction division and was active in land development. In 1986, the growing company affiliated with Coldwell Banker, the nation's largest real estate company, and operated as Coldwell Banker Richard Smith, Realtors(R), but remained an independently owned and operated company as a franchisee. Throughout the 90s and into the new century, the company continued to acquire more offices, spreading its reach from Texas to the Carolinas.

Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS(R) now has more than 2,600 agents and 84 offices in six states including Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. It was named the number one company in sales transactions among 1,287 independently owned and operated Coldwell Banker companies worldwide with a closed sales volume of $5.53 billion.
