Best College Reviews Names The 50 Best Colleges For Greek Life

WOODBURN, Ore., Aug. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Best College Reviews, a ranking service for American colleges and universities, has released a list of the Top 50 Colleges with the Best Greek Life. Data gathered from university websites regarding the percentage of undergraduates involved in Greek life, number of Greek chapters on campus, statistics from the National Center for Education Statistics on criminal incidents on campus, and an average of Greek Rank satisfaction percentages were used to create this ranking.

The ranking can be viewed here: http://www.bestcollegereviews.org/greek-life/

Greek life plays an integral part of student life on many campuses.  Fraternities and sororities are "value-based organizations dedicated to the development of character and lifelong friendships."  Greeks have a positive influence on campus, and are known for their philanthropic efforts, academic achievement, and community building.  Becoming involved in fraternity or sorority can be one of the best choices an undergraduate makes, as the Greek community becomes a family away from home.

Nick Plato, the article's author, said this about the list: "Before researching this article, I didn't know what to think about Greeks on college campuses.  Fraternities and sororities have a negative connotation due to their portrayal in movies as well as news stories about crazy parties.  When I started researching Greek life, I was pleasantly surprised at all of the positive, philanthropic, and communal aspects of being a Greek.  While there can be a downside of Greek life, I believe Greeks can have a positive impact on campus.  That is what I sought to bring out in this article, Greeks who are making a difference."
