CHICAGO, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Comic book fans have depended on ComicList.com for nearly 20 years to help them find the new releases that hit stands each week. Charles LePage, the long-time owner/editor of ComicList.com, has sold the business to GoCollect for an undisclosed sum. The deal also included a multi-year agreement to ensure Charles stays on as Editor-in-chief of the web site. "Keeping Chuck around is vital to the success of this business," comments Jeff Meyer, founder of GoCollect. "His dedication to timely, accurate comic book release information is the driving force behind the site's immense following."

The addition to the GoCollect family will open doors to fresh technologies for ComicList to leverage. Comic fans can count on the same, accurate information week in and week out, but they'll soon be able to consume that information more easily. GoCollect promises ComicList will receive improved desktop, tablet and mobile interfaces and eventually the release of apps for both the iOS and Android platforms.

Along with the acquisition of ComicList, GoCollect is announcing the upcoming debut of their Comic Retailer Program, which will allow online comic retailers to broadcast their inventory to site visitors. The goal is to empower comic buyers and collectors with a shopping platform designed specifically around their needs. Whether you're searching for a specific, graded copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1 or that hard-to-find new indy release, the upcoming platform promises to tell you who has it in stock and what price they're selling it for – all in real-time. Retailers can visit gocollect.com/feeds to gain access to the pilot program.
