HARTFORD, Conn., Aug. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Juanita Collier, MS, OD, opened an Optometry practice, 4D Vision Gym, at 181 B Shunpike Road in Cromwell on August 3, 2013.

Dr. Collier grew up in Cromwell and attended Edna C. Stevens Elementary School, Cromwell Middle School, and Cromwell High School.

After graduating with honors from Cromwell High School, Collier attended a prestigious Ivy-League university, the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree.  Collier then attended the State University of New York, State College of Optometry and received her Master of Science degree in Vision Science (from the Schnurmacher Institute for Vision Research) and her Doctor of Optometry degree concurrently.  She has conducted research on Computer Vision Syndrome and completed a Pediatric and Vision Therapy externship with an emphasis on Visual Perception at the University Optometric Center in New York City.

For the last 4 years, she has been working as a Behavioral Optometrist and has built up a loyal and raving patient base.

Dr. Collier has opened an unusual Optometry practice that offers Vision Therapy, an Optometrist-supervised treatment program that can remove visual barriers to learning and make it possible for children and adults to excel in areas where they previously struggled. This specialized type of eye training is being offered on a large scale at 4D Vision Gym.

If your child is struggling—finding it difficult to read, reports double or blurry vision, has poor handwriting, ducks when balls are thrown, or has a short attention span—they may have a developmental visual difficulty causing them to underperform or work hard with minimal results.  If this sounds familiar, Vision Therapy may be the missing link.

The brand new offices are the single tenant in a beautiful, 4,200 square foot building constructed by Quantum of Cromwell III.  These builders and the building inspector from the Town of Cromwell met a tight schedule to open the business in time for back-to-school eye exams.

You can tour the new offices at a Ribbon Cutting and Open House for 4D Vision Gym on Thursday, August 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Collier and her staff urge the residents of Cromwell and the nearby towns to come and learn more about this new practice and schedule back-to-school eye exams today.
