The Bright Key community school initiative was implemented in three Dothan-area elementary schools this fall. The program is supported by the Wiregrass Foundation, a K-12 educational foundation with a primary focus on DCS. Each school's program will be uniquely tailored to positively impact the children, schools, families and communities of the individual school.

DecisionEd will provide the data and analytics to help the school district and foundation understand the Bright Key program effectiveness in the pilot schools, and also to provide the Bright Key school instructional specialists, DCS district and school administrators with program impact data to help them make decisions that will drive higher student success. DecisionEd will be deployed district-wide for all schools, providing both benchmarking of program activities and benefitting all staff across every school within DCS.

"A public-private partnership as important as Bright Key needs to be able to demonstrate a positive impact," said Barbara Alford, Ph.D., Wiregrass Foundation president. "For foundations investing in education, a critical question almost always is, 'Has this project had an impact over and above what would have happened without our investment?' DecisionEd gives us, for the first time, a powerful, user-defined data management tool to be able to answer this question."

"We are very excited about the opportunities afforded us through our Bright Key partnership and the use of DecisionEd in this program and throughout the system," said C.L. (Chuck) Ledbetter, Ed.D., Superintendent, Dothan City Schools. "In this era of data-driven instruction, our abilities to effectively help students and efficiently target resources are dependent on quality data collection and analysis. The use of DecisionEd will allow for a greater level of analysis than we have ever been able to accomplish in the past so that we can make better instructional decisions for our students."

"Partnering with DecisionEd will certainly strengthen the performance of Bright Key in the schools. It will help us to measure the success of our program," said Melanie Hill, Bright Key Program Developer.

DecisionEd Chief Architect Mark Mason said, "Bright Key has the potential to be a breakthrough program with innovative concepts and programs designed to raise the level of student success. We are excited to join the partnership with Dothan City Schools and Wiregrass Foundation to provide support with our K-12 Performance Management product."
