SANTA FE, N.M., May 11, 2010 — Abe Lederman, founder and President of Deep Web Technologies, will be speaking tomorrow at a Swets Webinar about federated search and demonstrating his company's Explorit federated search application, sold in partnership with Swets under the name SwetsWise Searcher. Lederman will be demonstrating the product together with Swets Product Manager Marieke Heins. The Swets Webinar will take place Wednesday, May 12, 2010 11:00 AM EDT. It is free and open to an international audience. A recording will be available after the event. Information about registration and about downloading the recording is available at the Deep Web Technologies resources page:

The Webinar is aimed at members of library and research organizations who have to deal not only with an overload of information but with the challenges of that information residing in disparate sources. Users need a simpler way to discover and access the content they need. The right tools can provide users with quick and relevant search results. Learn from a pioneer in the federated search industry how the Deep Web Technologies Swets partnership can put the right tools into your user's hands.

About the Presentation

Researchers, particularly students, are making Google their first stop for research because it is "quick and easy." They assume that Google will find the authoritative, scholarly information that they are seeking. However, the information in Google is not always the highest quality or the most reliable content. Librarians now have the opportunity to team up with a Federated Search vendor to once again make the librarian a search authority in finding scholarly information. In this session, the audience will learn of the features and capabilities that are currently available in Federated Search. The audience will also learn how librarians can play a key collaborative role in bringing Federated Search to their patrons.
