Deep Web Technologies Named to EContent 100

SANTA FE, N.M., Dec. 15, 2009 — Deep Web Technologies, the company of choice for federated search and deep web solutions, has been named to the EContent 100 list, which recognizes companies that matter most in the digital content industry. The list is published by EContent Magazine. Fourteen judges determine who makes the list; judges include Information Today editors, EContent Magazine contributing editors, and other industry experts.

Judges recognized Deep Web Technologies for its leading edge federated search technology which scours scholarly deep web sources to provide scientists and researchers with access to quality content beyond that which Google can find. Deep Web Technologies' flagship product, Explorit, utilizes next-generation federated search technology to efficiently search, retrieve, analyze, and rank content in order of importance. Explorit is in a class by itself in its ability to search content sources with diverse query languages and complex authentication methods. Michelle Manafy, editor-in-chief of EContent Magazine, says that Deep Web Technologies earned its place on the list for "its leadership in the commercial and government federated search sectors" and added, "We seek to recognize companies like Deep Web Technologies that are not complacent but are constantly innovating."

"We are quite honored to receive this recognition," said Abe Lederman, Deep Web Technologies' Founder and CTO. "Digital content is expanding rapidly; we innovate out of necessity to keep content access manageable since the volume of the content itself has been growing out of control for some time. We've worked hard this year and it's wonderful to be noticed."

Deep Web Technologies-powered federated search application, Science.gov, was recently featured in the Government Computer News article "Great dot-gov Web Sites 2009" (http://tinyurl.com/mqs74e) as one of ten websites that take online government to the next level.
