Destiny Solutions Partners with University of Minnesota to Consolidate Institutional Operations

UMN launches Destiny One platform at five of its colleges to create business efficiencies

TORONTO, Sept. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The University of Minnesota (UMN) is creating internal efficiencies and improving engagement with non-credit learners by implementing Destiny One™, the student-centric administrative software platform designed by Destiny Solutions.

By deploying Destiny One, UMN has enhanced the engagement between the institution and its staff and learners, while creating economies of scale by operating five distinct business units using one standardized enterprise platform.

"We had a number of homegrown or purchased solutions from a variety of vendors that were being used, and that created multiple redundant systems," said Kristy Davis, Associate Director of Academic Support Resources-IT at UMN. "With Destiny One, it is a huge benefit to us to find one single system that lifts the administrative burden off of our staff, and allows our customers to own their learning experience."

UMN rolled out Destiny One at five of its colleges simultaneously — the College of Continuing Education, the Carlson School of Management, the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, UMN Extension, and the School of Public Health. It is currently in the process of expanding the implementation of Destiny One to seven additional business units.

"The way we have chosen to implement Destiny One has allowed us to be flexible, nimble, and scalable for any number of our business units that are coming onboard with the platform," Davis said. "It allows us to respond to our learners as quickly as we need to."

Destiny One offers UMN increased process efficiency, and lets each school provide their learners with world-class customer service. In addition to leveraging Destiny One's centralized online checkout process, self-serve student portal, and curriculum and registration management features, the platform also integrated with UMN's identity management system and Moodle software implementation.

"The University of Minnesota is an innovative public research institution that serves learners exceptionally well," said Shaul Kuper, President and CEO of Destiny Solutions. "Destiny One positions UMN to continue to grow its business, create internal efficiencies, and enhance customer engagement with learners."
