Dos Palmas Bakery & Grill Announces Longer Summer Hours, Rooftop Dining, Plus Beer and Wine

The popular coastal Leucadia restaurant now open for dinner and is offering beer and wine to go with their authentic Mexican cuisine and a spectacular rooftop dining area

ENCINITAS, Calif., June 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Due to the demand of customers wanting to experience more of this coastal gem, Dos Palmas Bakery & Grill has expanded their hours from 7am-9pm, 7 days per week. They also recently started serving beer and wine, another long-standing request from locals looking to have a refreshing alcoholic beverage with one of the many authentic Mexican dishes being served up by chef and owner Mario Anguiano. Rooftop dining has also been added, giving patrons the opportunity to eat and drink with a great view overlooking Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas.

"The demand for longer hours has been overwhelming," said owner Jennifer Anguiano. She added, "Our customers can't always make it in for breakfast or lunch, especially during the week. They love the food here and now they have the opportunity to stop in after dinner and relax over dinner or grab a meal to go for the whole family. Also, the addition of beer and wine and rooftop dining will add a whole new dimension to the dining experience at Dos Palmas. There is nothing like a crisp Mexican lager with our fish tacos and we also have a nice selection of local craft beers including Ballast Point. Mario will be suggesting beer and wine pairings with most of the menu, something that is not being done at Mexican restaurants in the area."

In addition to the savory offerings at Dos Palmas, Chef Mario is also a master baker and produces amazing custom cakes for any special occasion and pan dulce or "sweet bread" as it's called. Pan dulce is an assortment of Mexican treats that has been heavily influenced by the Spaniards and French who brought their rolls, baguettes and sweet pastries to Mexico. Mexican pan dulce requires less sugar and therefore tastes less sweet. The most popular pan dulce at Dos Palmas are the nino envueltos (strawberry and coconut pinwheels), mini Galletas (cookies), the pumpkin or Bavarian cream empanadas, and conchas. All are made fresh daily. Learn more about their authentic Mexican food, custom cakes and pan dulce at www.dospalmaspanaderiaandgrill.com.
