Dying Woman Leaves Fortune to Her Reincarnation in Inspirational New Novel

BYRON BAY, Australia, July 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — 'Taking it With You' is the debut fiction novel by author Daniel Prokop that has attracted 23 out of 23 five star ratings on Amazon.com. A recent review described the book as an "Intoxicatingly delicious, inspirational read."

Faith McCormack, the main character in 'Taking it With You,' loves herself more than anything, even more than she loves her cat. So when she is suddenly diagnosed with a fatal disease she snubs Fluffy and vows to take every last nickel of her vast fortune with her when she dies. Sadly cryonics leaves her cold but the thought of bequeathing everything to herself, her next self, to her reincarnation, sparks an obsession: a very challenging obsession.

Ms McCormack soon discovers why lonely, bitter, angry people leave their entire estates to their pet: it is exceedingly easy to find a pet. Put food out, pet found. It is exceptionally difficult to find a reincarnation.

Finding incarnations of past masters is part of the Tibetan Buddhist religion; it is not a profit centre but Faith reasons that if the Tibetan Buddhists can find the Dalai Lama's reincarnation 13 times then surely for a very large sum of money they will agree to find hers once.

Weaving through this delightful West tries to buy East story is a prophecy that promises a free Tibet: "When the Dakini marked by the tear of the dragon is found by her mirror, the chains of oppression will melt from the land of snows."

After over 50 years of non-violent struggle for self-determination the Tibetan people are overdue an uplifting prophecy. Is the prophecy fulfilled? You will have to read the book to find out.

"Taking it With You" is a compelling light hearted drama that has spirit, soul and laughter. It compares the fear of death in the west with the acceptance and understanding of death's role in life in the east. It contrasts saffron with Armani, compassion with selfishness and happiness with profound unhappiness – in an uplifting and often humorous way.

This original story has been in development for over 12 years and whilst fictional it has been blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Cover art is by master Tibetan painter Karma Phuntsok.
