Early Childhood Safety: Illustrative Handbook for Kids

Author's handy guide for child safety will be featured at this year's Shanghai International Children's Book Exhibit in Shanghai Mart Exhibition Center, Shanghai, China on November 7-10, 2013

POTOMAC, Md., Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Retired elementary school teacher Rebecca Adler aims to educate young children about the many dangers in their environment, so they can learn ways to protect themselves.  Inspired by friends and family, the author creates this comprehensive illustrative handbook for children and their safety.  With simple, direct words and interesting pictures, young readers will easily read and understand Keep Me Safe at Home and in My Community.

This picture book covers six areas of early childhood safety: Home Safety, Strangers, Streets, Cars, Playgrounds, and Swimming Pools.  It uses colorful illustrations, large fonts, and cute pets.  It's also multi-cultural and multi-generational so children everywhere can relate to it.

It's written as a handbook with simple sentences so that children can read it themselves and share it with young siblings and friends.  Children can share their information with the adults in their lives (parents, grandparents, foster parents, babysitters, daycare providers, etc.)

There are too many accidents involving young children that can be prevented if children are made aware of potential dangers (ex. fires, drowning, falls, abductions, car accidents, etc.).  That's what this book hopes to achieve: keeping children aware of the potential dangers in their environment.

Available through these online bookstores (in 3 languages: English, Spanish and French) through www.bookwhirl.com.
