With other Vermont organizations such as the University of Vermont, ECHO honors Earth Day 2012

TAMPA, Fla., April 23, 2012 — In celebration of Earth Day 2012, ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, will host the 7th annual ECHO Earth Weeks' MudFest. From April 21-29, 10am-4pm, visitors will be educated and entertained with mud-themed interactive activities, games, eco-exhibitions and "Muddy Music" from acclaimed local musicians.

ECHO hosts this annual event to help raise awareness of Earth Week and the importance of sustainable innovation. Sustainability is a growing trend that addresses environmental responsibility and can be applied across all aspects of life. As a state, Vermont has long stood as a leader in sustainable innovation. For decades, organizations across the state have been actively involved in spreading the word about sustainability to a growing global audience.

The University of Vermont, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited university, is leading the effort in Vermont to emphasize sustainability practices for businesses and college campuses across the globe. UVM currently offers two online sustainability certificate programs 100% online. The Advanced Certificate in Sustainable Innovation is aimed at giving business professionals the expertise to develop and maintain environmental, economic and social responsibility in the business setting. "Sustainability is proving to be a critical strategic initiative for organizations of all types who not only want to implement eco-friendly practices, but also increase profitability," said Adrian Marrullier, the Executive Vice President of University Alliance. "The University of Vermont's online programs offer the information that businesses need to successfully bring these practices into their organization."
