Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Movassaghi strives to create positive change in the Northwest and beyond.
EUGENE, Ore., April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Kiya Movassaghi, founder and director of Movassaghi Plastic Surgery & Ziba Medical Spa in Eugene, Oregon was recently elected the president of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons (NWSPS).
During Dr. Movassaghi's one-year term, he plans to call attention to issues affecting the professional and personal lives of plastic surgeons throughout the Northwest, specifically in Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, Alaska, and Hawaii. NWSPS serves 350 physicians in this expansive region.
As the president of the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Movassaghi will focus his efforts on physician wellness and burnout prevention. He will advocate for the physical and emotional wellness of surgeons as he believes this will in turn help patients receive better care and results.
Dr. Movassaghi points out that many surgeons need help dealing with stress in productive ways. "Having practiced for 13 years as a plastic surgeon, I've learned the importance of balancing my work and personal life. Surgeons are not always taught these skills and, in my new role, I want to support physician education in this area."
Practicing plastic surgery in Eugene, Oregon has prepared Dr. Movassaghi to act locally and think globally. "Working with surgeons near and far is a passion of mine," he notes.
