February Is Pinot Noir Month

Celebrate sexy, elegant, alluring, food friendly, and heart healthy Pinot Noir

SEBASTOPOL, Calif., Nov. 18, 2010 — Why celebrate Pinot Noir? Barbara Drady of AFFAIRS of the VINE says, "Pinot Noir is the only grape that you can explore for a month and still want to taste more and more examples. Pinot Noir is magical. It is the most incredible wine to pair with food. It inspires emotional reactions and lots of words, sometimes sighs and occasionally moans (usually of pleasure), and… Pinot Noir is good for you. It is three to four times higher in resveratrol (a compound that is believed to help prevent damage to blood vessels, reduce 'bad' cholesterol and prevent blood clots) than other wine, especially when it is grown in cooler and more humid climates."

February 2011 marks the first Pinot Noir Month celebration with Pinot tastings, events, and educational workshops at wineries, retailers, restaurants, and wine clubs across the country. The month-long focus will culminate in the 9th Annual Pinot Summit on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District.

Updates and reports on Pinot Noir Month happenings will be featured on "What's Cookin' Today" on CRN Digital Talk Radio. CRN reaches more than 11 million households nationally and abroad via cable television, broadcast radio, satellite and the Internet.

Information on upcoming events, workshops, tastings, and recipes will be posted on the Pinot Noir Month website. To have your Pinot Noir-focused events and recipes included on the website, contact Email.

Wine Evangelist and Pinot Noir expert, Barbara Drady of AFFAIRS of the VINE is the Director of the Pinot Noir Shootout and Summit.
