Federal Cyber Security Community Gathers to Exchange Lessons Learned and Chart the Future at FedCyber Summit

Community Leaders Collaborate Across Sectors to Enhance Cyber Security Posture

MCLEAN, Va., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Every year a select group of leading cyber security practitioners come together at the FedCyber Summit to exchange lessons learned, discuss best practices, review the state of the Cyber Threat and work action plans designed to enhance our collective cyber defense. The 2014 FedCyber Summit will be held Nov. 5, 2014 in Tysons Corner, Virginia. If you have lessons learned to share from any sector of the economy and can engage with the community at the Summit please apply to attend.

This year we are highlighting several topics of community interest, including:

  • New models required for defense in an era when attackers outpace defenders, national security objectives contradict private sector initiatives, and increasing nation-state control of cyber-borders is the new norm.
  • The current and future challenges associated with the mash up of physical and cyber systems known as the Internet of Things (how will we secure the things in our enterprises, cars, homes and our bodies?).
  • Autonomous defense: How can we defend at machine speed?
  • Professionalism of the cyber workforce: How can we address hiring gaps? How can we support and leverage transitioning Veterans? How can we better encourage and support women leaders in cyberspace
