Orlando-based Florida Virtual School is the nation's largest fully-certified online state public school. FLVS has served more than 600,000 students throughout Florida, the remaining 49 states and more than 65 countries over the past 18 years. Their curriculum is approved by the NCAA and the full-time program is fully accredited by AdvanceED and SACS CASI.

FLVS boasts an award-winning, fully customizable K to 12 curriculum taught by highly qualified Florida-certified teachers. The program features more than 140 courses ranging from core academics to world languages and everything in-between.  All courses offered meet or exceed both Florida and national standards. The full-time school follows a traditional 180-day calendar running from August to June.

COE first partnered with FLVS for their 2014-15 inaugural year. COE, Brandon intends to offer a blended version of the virtual education model, providing students with the best of both online and traditional learning approaches. Classes will be taught by both virtual (online) and live (classroom-based) certified FLVS instructors who are assisted by qualified on-site tutors.

The first-of-its-kind U.S.-based academy provides exceptional youth players with a full nine months of consistent, high level development, training and education. COE's soccer-specific program includes a 3-hour daily regimen of individual and group training, soccer-specific conditioning, speed and strength training, and an on-going individualized assessment and feedback process. Instruction is carried out by a highly qualified coaching staff – each coach has played professional and/or collegiate soccer and all have coached soccer at the collegiate level.

"We wanted to create a unique and exclusive environment where motivated student athletes are surrounded by like-minded, goal-oriented peers who share a passion for soccer and a desire to become elite players at the college level and beyond," says Ryan Maloney, founder and CEO. A product of the English youth academy system, Maloney played professionally in England and the U.S. and is a former two-time All American at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

The overarching goal of the program is maximizing each student's potential to become priority recruits for professional and academic institutions – to help make them desirable to college recruiters so they can earn scholarships at schools of their choice. For some that path may lead beyond to the professional level in the U.S. or abroad.

"The COE academy offers youth players in the U.S. the closest thing they can realistically experience comparable to a professional environment," offer Bryn Lloyd, director of COE, Brandon. Lloyd is a well-known club director in Florida youth soccer who previously played and coached professionally in England and is an alum of the renowned Chelsea FC Academy.

An ID Camp is planned in the Brandon area in early May. Check the COE, Brandon  website or call the school for further details on the date and time.
