Flying Start for Novel That Reveals the Reality of Reality TV

LONDON, March 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — It has been an explosive first month for Reality Boulevard, the novel that reveals the terrifying truth about some of America's favourite shows.

Bestselling author Melissa Jo Peltier, who worked in reality TV for decades before writing the tell-all book, has been appearing on radio stations around the US and on blogs and news sites all over the world.

Reality Boulevard is the story of Oscar-winning producer Marty Maltzman, who finds himself out of a job when his respected docu-series Lights and Sirens gets the axe. All the networks seem to be interested in are the likes of the Real Housewives and Kardashians, and it's suddenly very hard to know what's true – both on and off screen.

A double Emmy Award-winning writer and producer, Peltier has co-authored seven non-fiction books including five bestsellers. She was behind international hits such as the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan, which has been dubbed "the last 'real' reality show on television."

The novel – which veteran reality producer Arnold Shapiro (Big Brother, Rescue 911) called "the best satirical look behind the scenes of reality television ever written" – is available to download for e-readers now.

Produced by the innovative London e-publisher ApostropheBooks.com, Reality Boulevard is available to read on the Kindle, iPad, iPhone and Kobo, as well as many other devices and retailers, and will soon be released for Nook.

On Amazon.com, the novel has topped the Hot New Releases chart, with every reviewer giving it a five-star rating.

Many in the TV trade have also endorsed it, with Grimm and Hot in Cleveland producer Todd Milliner saying: "During her 20-plus years in the business, Melissa Jo Peltier had a front-row seat, watching it all unfold. In this novel, she puts her dry wit and storytelling ability to good use, pulling back the curtain to reveal what really goes on."

One thing is for sure – after reading Reality Boulevard, you'll never trust your TV again.
