Funzee has been designing and manufacturing its own brand of fun garments since 2008 and sells online in Europe and the USA. Until now, its main products have been footed and unfooted pajamas for adults, but the introduction of animal onesies extends the product range to party costumes.
With the festive season just around the corner, Funzee has decided to test five animal styles – Owl, Cow, Dinosaur, Giraffe and Chipmunk. The range is known as "Funzoos" and compliments the Funzees and Funskins (tight spandex full bodysuits) that Funzee currently sells. These one-piece suits are made from soft fleece which makes them very warm and hard wearing. They will retail on the Funzee site for just $34.95.
There are potentially many other kinds of animal costumes available which will be introduced if customer feedback is positive. Animal and character costumes are big in the Far East, especially Japan, where they are known as Kigurumi. Popular outfits there include Pikachu, Tortoro, various Disney Characters, and Hello Kitty, as well as birds, dinosaurs, dogs, cows and pandas. The costumes are often worn out in the street, or whilst strolling in the park. In the USA, the market is expected to be mainly as party or festival costumes. A spokesman for Funzee commented, "We have various international websites and it is always interesting to see different product preferences between them. When we have analysed USA feedback we can extend the animal range to suit our USA customers."
Although often thought of as a winter product for staying warm on those long, cold nights there is all-year-round demand for funzee's one-piece suits. During Spring and Summer, cotton funzees are most popular, but in time for Winter, Funzee introduces more fleece designs and this year they will include Jet Funzee with plain black fleece and Minty Funzee with green and white stripes. In fact, funzees are often not used as pajamas at all but more as a cozy, comfortable garment for relaxing after a hard day at work.
Funzee have a warehouse in upstate New York from where all USA orders are despatched using USPS priority mail as the standard delivery method.
