Global Coaching Profession Celebrates International Coaching Week

LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb. 29, 2012 — Thousands of people from around the world experienced the proven power of coaching, many for the first time, during International Coaching Week (ICW), February 5-11, 2012.

Leading up to International Coaching Week the ICF encouraged coaches to share their planned activities for the weeklong celebration. The events poured in from all parts of the world. Coaches commemorated the weeklong celebration in a variety of ways, through coaching workshops, conferences, demonstrations, educational lectures, career fairs, and other special events. To see a roundup of 2012 ICW activities visit CoachingWeek.org.

"ICW is a special time each year, not only for members of ICF but for all professional coaches everywhere to unify and celebrate the profession of coaching," said ICF President and Master Certified Coach Janet M. Harvey. "It's extremely gratifying to know that coaches across the world spent ICW creating understanding for the benefits of coaching, educating the public about the positive impact and cost-effectiveness of professional coaching, and shared the proven results clients report regarding coaching."

In honor of ICW 2012, the ICF released findings from its latest research study, the 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study, the most ambitious piece of research ever conducted of the global coaching profession.
