The new 6,840 sq. ft. building will house the expanded Grand Bank Bixby bank as well as bring a new retailer to the Bixby area:  J David Jewelry, which also has a location in Broken Arrow.  Noted Tulsa architect Jack Arnold designed the new building, which is being constructed by Cowen Construction of Tulsa.

"Bixby and the South Tulsa markets have a great infrastructure and support system for business and this new bank building reflects our desire to grow with this dynamic community," said Smith.  "As one of the few family-owned and operated banks in the area, focusing on the financial needs of this great community is in our DNA. It's what we come to work to do every day."

Bixby is one of the fastest growing communities in Oklahoma, with a 57% growth rate over the past few years, according to the Bixby Chamber of Commerce.

Smith said that the new building will allow Grand Bank to continue to grow; the Bixby bank recently added one new loan officer and plans to add another lending professional when the new bank building opens in 2014.

"While a number of local banks have been sold to out-of-state financial entities recently, Grand Bank remains an independent family-owned and operated bank with a distinct focus on delivering highly personalized services and responding quickly to the lending needs of local businesses, professionals and their families," said Austin Buerge, Grand Bank president and CEO.

Grand Bank is a community bank with assets of $204 million. It operates banks in Bixby, Tulsa and Claremore. The bank provides traditional banking services to businesses and consumers throughout northeastern Oklahoma, including private banking and commercial loans related to commercial and residential real estate, oil and gas production, auto dealerships, medical facilities and operations, manufacturing and other commercial enterprises. Other banking services include mortgage loans, credit cards and personal loans.
