Great Value Colleges Issues Research Findings on the Most Affordable Computer Science and Engineering Colleges in the Country

SALISBURY, Md., July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Great Value Colleges has just launched an online article that is focused on quality low-priced degrees in computer science and engineering. "50 Great Affordable Colleges for Computer Science and Engineering" is a comprehensive ranking of dozens of highly ranked colleges and universities with reasonable tuition rates. The release of the article marks a new addition to the Great Value Colleges website, which is a no-cost guide to low-cost degree programs in the United States.

The list of 50 great colleges was whittled from a larger list of 111 schools with computer science and engineering programs. Public and private institutions were sorted not just by price, but also according to ratings by U.S. News and World Report for the nation's best science and engineering schools. The top 50 results are separated into five geographic regions with overall rankings for each individual school as well as tuition rates before and after applying grants and scholarships.

"As the cost of attending college continues to skyrocket, the demand for information about quality, affordable degree programs is higher than ever," said editor Autumn Naugle. "With this ranking of affordable computer science and engineering colleges, we hope to provide a solid research base for cost-conscious students considering this line of study."

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, a college degree in computer science and/or engineering is a solid foundation for a number of high-paying occupations. Post-graduates on average can earn up to $100,000 or more per year. The cost of computer science and engineering degrees, however, can be out of reach for many undergraduates. Great Value Colleges' article about great, affordable colleges for computer science and engineering demonstrates how low-cost degrees can be a great educational investment.
