HLW International Announces Staff Promotions at New York Headquarters

Promotions From Within HLW Build on a Long History of Excellence

NEW YORK, Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — HLW is pleased to announce several promotions in the New York office. Edward Shim was promoted to Principal and Elizabeth Burow, Lee Devore, RA, and Jaclyn Whitaker, RA, were promoted to Senior Associates. Matthew Bishop, John Crimmins, CPA, Khyati Dutt, RA, Patricia Duval, Deirdre Gould, Shehab Hossain, Carolyn Morin, RA, Tamar Moy, Katherine Richbourg, RA, Oscar Segal, PE, and Alvin Tabar, PE, were promoted to Associates.

For example, recent hires and promotions within the Strategy & Discovery group reflect an ongoing investment in expertise related to workplace strategy, real estate portfolio planning, change management and global guidelines.

Biographies of HLW New York Promotions

Principal

Ed Shim—Mr. Shim joined HLW more than nine years ago as a Senior Designer. During this tenure, he became the Design Director of HLW's Architectural Design Group. He accomplished this while building an impressive resume of built work and repeat clients, including the 27-story Hilton Grand Vacations Club on West 5th Street in Manhattan and the 450,000 –square-foot addition to the Liberty Harbor North Redevelopment District, 225 Grand, in Jersey City. In addition to designing multiple buildings in the Shanghai region, Mr. Shim has made significant contributions to the tri-state area, including projects for BMW, Hofstra University, Ironstate Development and Mack-Cali Realty Corporation.

Senior Associates

Elizabeth Burow—Ms. Burow plays a critical role in HLW's Strategy & Discovery group. Her strengths as a designer and workplace strategist include proficiency in bridging disciplines, creating unified solutions, and transforming the values of a client and end-user into successful projects. Projects for Google, Medicines Company and NBC number among her recent successes.

Lee Devore, RA—Mr. Devore is a strong collaborator, communicator and innovator. As Project Architect, he has strengthened HLW's relationships with repeat clients, such as Google and Wells Fargo, through his hands-on, efficient and strategic management of multiple projects.

Jaclyn Whitaker, RA—Ms. Whitaker is highly adept at integrating sustainability goals and the architectural and client vision for a project. Her expertise includes sustainability and LEED administration. Since joining HLW in 2010, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the scope and impact of the firm's in-house LEED project certification initiatives and Google's Healthy Materials Program.
