Homeschooling Magazine Is on Track to Give Away 20,000 Copies in 2012

ST. LOUIS, April 3, 2012 — Practical Homeschooling magazine is entering its 20th year of publication. To celebrate, they are giving away 20,000 copies of their magazine this year.

"With public schools on the decline and fewer families able to afford private-school tuition, it's no surprise that homeschooling is on the rise," said Practical Homeschooling publisher Mary Pride. "So we're making it easy for families considering homeschooling to get a taste of what homeschooling is all about."

Mary Pride knows what new and veteran homeschoolers need. A mother of 9 homeschool graduates, she literally "wrote the book" on homeschooling over 25 years ago, with the 1986 publication of her bestselling Big Book of Home Learning.

The Big Book was the first ever mass-market homeschooling how-to book. Recognized as a groundbreaking achievement, it won both the ECPA Gold Medallion and Silver Angel awards, and went into multiple printings and editions.

Realizing a magazine with the same winning formula was needed, Practical Homeschooling magazine began publication in 1993. Since then, it has continued to lead the way in homeschool innovation and success.

Articles in the current issue of Practical Homeschooling cover the entire range of homeschool experience, from preschool to college. From how to homeschool a preschooler with special needs, to understanding how college ranking systems work (and which ones to trust), from articles on history and storytelling, to a whole new (actually, old) way to study astronomy, from reviews of hot new products to 101 reasons to start homeschooling right now – this issue has plenty to keep both new and veteran homeschoolers busy.
