Over two fast-moving days, attendees will dive deep into 32 practical sessions, stretch their knowledge and skills, and explore a whole new outlook on teaching. It's an exciting event packed with new sessions in which teachers will learn how to tackle their toughest issues, including differentiation, "fitting it all in," centers, classroom management, challenging behaviors, and students with special needs.

"The standards, technology, more diverse classrooms—these are just a few of the catalysts changing how Indiana teachers teach and how students learn," SDE program developer Beth Nee says. The upcoming conference in Indianapolis will build the confidence and skill set of teachers with fun technology ideas, engaging activities for meeting the reading, writing, and math standards and the ISTAR-KR, practical intervention tips, and more.

A team of nationally respected kindergarten experts will share what they know and how to make it work in the real world of teaching. This November's conference roster includes Angie Bonthuis NBCT, Drew Giles, Kim Jordano, Carole Stephens, and Indiana State Educator Carolyn Shyrock. Education expert and crowd favorite Dan St. Romain will kick off the event with an encouraging keynote on what really matters to our children's future. The next day, technology pro Sandi Reyes will reflect in her keynote on how to get students to know, like, and trust you.

A stimulating environment is the hallmark of this conference. "Fun is the name of the game. Nothing gives you more motivation than a SDE conference. There'll be yoga and sign language, music and movement, play-based tech, and lots of STEM. You can't help but be energized. When you bring together like-minded people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, new ideas spring up everywhere. It's hands down the most relevant conference out there for today's kindergarten teachers," Nee says.
