LEXINGTON, Ky., May 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — International Coaching Week (ICW) 2017 will take place May 15–21, 2017, the International Coach Federation (ICF) has announced. During this weeklong celebration, ICF Chapters and coaches around the world will host a variety of activities and deliver pro bono services in their local communities to enable others to experience coaching and its benefits firsthand.

Founded in 1999 by ICF Master Certified Coach Jerri N. Today ICF is a proud sponsor of ICW and encourages coaches all over the globe to participate each year.

"International Coaching Week is the time to talk about coaching and the amazing potential it offers to individuals and organizations," said ICF Global CEO/Executive Director Magdalena Mook. "ICW is a time to connect and celebrate the art, science and practice of professional coaching."

During ICW 2016, held May 16–22, 2016, more than 50 ICF Chapters around the world offered free coaching services and hosted conferences, forums and networking gatherings in order to promote coaching within their communities and advance professional development amongst coaches. ICW 2016 highlights included:

  • ICF Nigeria offered many different opportunities for people to experience coaching, including the "Corporate Coaching Cafe," where coaches worked with companies to provide complimentary sessions to those in leadership roles, and the "Experience Coaching Cafe," which offered 30-minute complimentary sessions to the public with the intent to give back to local communities and to raise awareness of coaching in the region.
  • ICF Chile celebrated its first-ever ICW with a tour around the country, generating meetings, lectures and free coaching demonstrations.
  • ICF Singapore hosted a number of events throughout the week, including laser coaching sessions, coaching demonstrations and a dinner with thought leader Marshall Goldsmith.
  • ICF Bulgaria celebrated ICW with a series of events in two cities: Varna and Sofia. The overarching theme was "Coaching for Organizational and Personal Development," and ICF Bulgaria partnered with three organizations to bring coaching to developing leaders and the general public through information and pro bono sessions.
