International Coach Federation Video Spotlights Innovative Coach Training Program

ICF Master Certified Coach Elena Espinal discusses her training program for visually impaired coaches in new Credential Legacy video.

LEXINGTON, Ky., July 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — As an Executive Coach and the founder of the coaching and training firm Team Power, International Coach Federation (ICF) Master Certified Coach Elena Espinal (Mexico) has partnered with a variety of well-known private- and public-sector clients, including American Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Coca-Cola and the government of Canada.

However, one of Team Power's smallest clients has the most significance for Espinal. Founded in 2006, Ojos Que Sienten (OQS), or "Sight of Emotion," is a nonprofit that works to change perceptions of visually impaired individuals by focusing on their skills; empowering and including them in social, vocational and educational settings; and supporting them in overcoming their barriers.

Espinal tells the story of the innovative coach-training program she created with OQS in the third video in ICF's Credential Legacy series. The video, which is posted on ICF's Credential Legacy microsite at ICFCredentialLegacy.com and on YouTube, shows the journey of the training program's first class of coaches as they prepare to graduate and continue their own pursuit of ICF Credentials.

"The latest ICF Credential Legacy video points to possibilities: possibilities of doing things that initially don't seem attainable, of engaging in what some may call impossible, of permitting oneself to dream big," said ICF CEO/Executive Director Magdalena Mook. "When Elena Espinal earned her own ICF Credential, it opened up a possibility for her to take her students on a similar journey of learning and becoming professional coaches."

The video series is the latest component of ICF's ongoing Credential Legacy Campaign, which spotlights testimonials and industry research illustrating the numerous personal and professional benefits associated with the pursuit and achievement of an ICF Credential. The first video, featuring ICF Professional Certified Coach Julia Mattern (USA), premiered in March 2014. The second video, featuring ICF Associate Certified Coach Janez Hudovernik (Slovenia), premiered during International Coaching Week 2014. ICF will premiere additional videos that tell the diverse stories of ICF Credential-holders from around the world throughout 2014.
