Jordan Rivers and Rivers Ink on the A.C. Green Radio Show

CHICAGO, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Jordan Rivers, CEO, Founder and author of Rivers Ink, was interviewed Sunday, 3/23/2015 on the A.C. Green Radio Show discussing her new book which is the 1st book of the Village series "The Spider that Grew and Grew". When asked in the interview what the storyline was about, Rivers stated, "People fear what they don't understand.  The book explains how the professor created a potion to make things grow due to a drought the village was having. However, the spider drunk some of the potion and grew, which made the village fear the spider and wanted to kill it. The spider ends up saving the village and changing the minds of the villagers while no longer fearing it. The moral of the story is that if people continue to walk in fear, our minds would never be open to solving problems. We need to make sure that every child grows up knowing how to not be controlled by fear, becoming a problem solver and successful in finding solutions."

We are having a field trip in the classroom!  Rivers Ink (www.riversink.com), a publishing company, is focused on encouraging children to read. We plan to do this by engaging children's imagination and sense of excitement by giving them the red carpet treatment! Lights, camera, action!! They will love the experience of feeling special and meeting the author! When children see reading, storytelling, and creativity as important parts of their lives, it can literally change their whole outlook. We hope to build bridges between children's authors and their audiences in schools throughout the greater Chicagoland areas and the U.S!

For schools to set up author appearances, it is quite an easy process. First, school officials can call Rivers Ink to schedule a date. Next, the school and/or parents purchases books to accommodate students, so they can all enjoy the book signing and red carpet events. Schools are only responsible for books, taxes, shipping and handling fees; Appearance fees are not associated with these services. All book transactions can be made through www.riversink.com.

For every company that sponsors the "Turn the Pages" Tour, a percentage of the proceeds will go to our Charitable Partner, Bernie's Book Bank. Their mission is that they facilitate the collection, processing and redistribution of new and gently used children's books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
