San Diego plastic surgeon Dr. Johan Brahme to Assume Duties January 1, 2013
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Dr. Johan Brahme has been elected by his colleagues to serve as Medical Director at the La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre (LJCSC), effective January 1, 2013. Dr. Brahme is a plastic surgeon certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and has been a member of the staff of LJCSC since 2004.

As medical director, Dr. Brahme will assume the leadership role for all policies, procedures, and philosophies related to patient interactions and practice operations. Patient care, safety, and satisfaction will be his priorities. He will also have oversight on legal and regulatory compliance for the practice, including its state-of-the-art surgical suite.
Dr. Brahme obtained his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident in the Division of Plastic Surgery and later served on the faculty. He comes from a medical background, as his father, Folke Brahme, M.D., was also on the faculty of the UCSD School of Medicine.
Dr. Brahme is past president of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society. He volunteers his services to Interface, an organization that provides reconstructive surgery to needy children in Mexico, primarily focusing on cleft lip and palate repair.
The outgoing Medical Director at LJCSC is fellow board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lori H. Saltz. LJCSC is a pioneering facility devoted to the cosmetic surgery patient. It was founded in 1988 by Dr. R. Merrel Olesen, who served as the Centre's first Medical Director.
